Assembly and Test
For the assembly of the devices, we have divided the process of assembly into two main parts, the mechanical assembly and control system assembly. In the control system assembly process we also divided the assembly into various small parts such as terminals assembly, the touch panel box assembly; the Solenoid Valve set assembly and the assembly of the circuit board. In the mechanical assembly, we also divided into the aluminum frame assembly, cylinder assembly, cable carrier assembly and the conjunction assembly. We cannot grouping all of the small assembly into one since we needed to test all section of the robot one by one and make sure that all of the pre- assembly process must be install correctly.
For the testing process, we have divided into pneumatic testing and the control testing. In the pneumatic testing, we have tested all of the solenoid valves and connect both of the valves into the cylinder immediately after finished the installation of the solenoid valve and we found that all of the solenoid valves did not variant of air. The control testing is started after we connect the PLC with the HMI successfully since we want to test the output of the PLC by the control of the touch panel. Thus, we tried to setup a simple program and just set some relate and output in this program and download it into the PLC. The most important step is to setup some button for testing purposes, we build up the relate with the name to indicates what output is the bottom control for. At the same time, we can observe the indicator light. If the light will switch on after we push the button that mean the touch panel can connect with the PLC properly.
